Children’s Costumes: a Last Minute Do-it-Yourself Biblical Costume

So you’ve scrambled through every costume aisle in town and all of the children’s costumes are completely picked over – And unless your son wants to go as a Fairy Princess, you had better think fast! Well, never fear. If you have found yourself in those “last minute blues” – we’ve got you covered. Here is a “how to” for our favorite do-it-yourself biblical children’s costumes made from things you probably already have lying around the house.

Moses and other Biblical Characters

Take a large bed sheet and cut a circle in its center. Make sure the whole is large enough to fit over your child’s head but small enough so that it doesn’t fall off. This will be their “robe”. Next, tie a simple rope around their waste for a belt. Lastly, find a sturdy stick from your yard for a staff. A super cute idea for this little Moses costume? Instead of saying trick or treat when approaching a door, he can say, “Let my people go!”

This little costume is sure to inspire lots of “aw’s” and giggles. It just goes to show you, when it comes to last minute children’s costumes, they don’t have to be a bore. With a little imagination, you can turn even the simplest of household items into a fun, creative costume.
