When when the warm evenings are getting hotter, you spend a lot of your hours to meet with friends drinking in beer gardens without the aid of garden heaters. Kings Place are putting on regular themed free music nights for young people. The styles of music run through all forms of desired music and less well known genres. The crowd is young and trendy. The night is supposed to be desirable for 18 – 40 year olds, but the age group that takes the largest chunk is mid twenties. As you attend more and more evening each week you notice the same people in the place from weeks before. This is a good indication as people keep on returning. The styles of music change to cater for different tastes, but the cliental tend to be diverse and want to experience something unique. It cost nothing for entrance so one has nothing to lose in trying something one hasn’t heard before.

The most memorable night to date was the Blues gig. It featured four artists all from London playing bluesy rhythms that when you hear you just can’t stop moving your feet. RogerHubbard was by far the most gifted in the line up. His tunes were from a sixties era with riffs that were both melodic and fun. The tune ‘Fighting That Jug’ was just amazing. A song about alcohol addiction sung in an catchy tone. They master of ceremonies mentioned he’s back in the New Year so be sure not to miss it.

This week coming up it is the theme of Punk music. So if it’s not your cup of tea, just turn up anyway, you never know you might enjoy it, it costs nothing after all.
