Albert Weber born July 8, 1828 in Bavaria came to New York well educated and with a good knowledge of music. He served an apprenticeship. He taught music to provide for himself.
Weber was such a thorough piano maker, and perfect performer on piano, that he knew how to utilize the best methods for construction. He used the best talent, best workmen and spared no expense to improve the tone or quality of the piano. He inspired his workers to take pride in their work. All this made his pianos to be acknowledged second to none. The Weber piano was chosen by the opera singers for the sympathetic musical tone. This became known as the “Weber tone.”
Weber was a most interesting entertainer, usually convincing a buyer to purchase a piano after hearing Weber play.
Weber did not delegate his business work, but tried to do everything himself, which became too much and he died at the age of fifty.
