A Purifying Diet for Weight Loss and Health

Our food, water and air contain an astonishing number of chemical substances, some of which are toxic to the body even in minor amounts, and most of which are grueling to your body’s natural purifying capability. As well as doing several body detoxes a year, you can maintain a fit and healthy body by nudging your normal routine diet toward a cleansing diet. In addition to furnishing year round body detoxification, a cleansing diet will help you maintain improved health, greater energy and mood, and a stable weight. Many people have reported lasting and even speedy weight loss with a detoxifying diet.

The most simple way to change to a cleansing diet for weight loss and health is to eat more fresh fruits and vegetables and significantly reduce your intake of fatty foods, processed foods and sugary foods. Here are some suggestions for what foods to include in your cleansing diet:

  • 2-5 servings of fresh fruit every day. Don’t eat too many bananas or dried fruits. Dried fruits should be soaked for a few hours.
  • 2 salads every day, ideally at lunch and dinner.
  • 2 servings of Grilled chicken, fish or tofu for your protein. Lean beef now and then.
  • 4 oz. of vegetable juice once a day if possible. Best veggies are cucumber, celery, carrot, beets and parsley. If you don’t have the time or equipment to juice vegetable juice at home, purchase it fresh in a healthy quantity, portion it into 2 oz servings and freeze for future consumption.
  • Sea vegetables (seaweed) daily. Granulated dulse and kelp are easy to use. Powdered seaweeds can even be used as a salt substitute.
  • And, naturally, drink more water. Try to raise your water intake to a gallon a day of fresh, filtered or spring water. Some of your daily intake can include unsweetened herbal tea. No sugared drinks. Sodas and bottled juices do not hydrate, they just add more content to your body’s system.
