Meet Some New Friends Playing Tennis

The TLN operates a collection of city based internet sites where we connect players on the tennis courts.

Here are some of the domains in our program:
Orlando Tennis, Baltimore Tennis, Manhattan Tennis

Our playoffs Work after every league.

How do the Playoffs Work?
We use the playoff system to determine who is the overall winner of the season. Its a single elimination tournament where we will eventually have one champion.

Tournaments are Skill Level Based
The playoff brackets could have a bunch of players in it that you have never competed against before. Also participants who obtain wins from another skill level still qualify for the playoffs of the current division they are in. (* see below for a more detailed explanation)

Seedings & Brackets
We present all the participants on the League report pages. League Rule #10 is used to shape the seedings:
Rule #10) Playoff Positioning
Regular league ties are broken by this order:
1) Overall Record, based on tennis matches over .500. 6-1 is 5 tennis matches over, 8-2 is 6 tennis matches over and would be better.
2) In league Head-to-Head record for players tied after #1
3) We promote players playing matches, so 6-1 would be better than 5-0.
4) Percentage of games won

Five participants qualify. In a 5 person single elimination bracket the #1 qualifier will have a first round bye while qualifiers #4 and #5 play a quarter final match where the winner will play the #1 seed in the semi-finals. Seeds #2 and #3 will play in the other semi-final match. The victors of the two semi-finals tennis matches will play for the championship.

Scheduling & Deadlines
In most playoff tourneys we set up a 1-week deadline to play each round’s tennis match.

Prize Pool & National Tournament
The winner of the tourney will receive an invite to the national championship that will be held at Crandon Park Tennis Center in Key Biscayne Florida on Nov. 5-7.

* They will also be seeded according to Rule #10 indifferent of which level the wins came from.
