Fingerprint Scanning Instead of Passwords Would Cut Back so Much Trouble
How could anybody possibly remember all those passwords and PINs for his or her many personal accounts? For security reason, they are to be made individually identifiable, no matter how many accounts you have got. Industry advice is that personal password should be a combination of numbers, upper and lower case letters. Also that you should never write your passwords or PIN numbers down but always commit them to memory, but I am finding this very difficult. For beginners I have about 15 different debit and credit cards each with a different PIN code. I have started to conceal them as phone numbers in my mobile, leaving the last 4 digits of the number as my pin so that I will never be in that awkward situation at the check out where you forget what it is and have to leave your shopping at the shop and wait to get swamped with sighs from wife!Password was meant to include additional level of security to your account, however, things can go severe because of it. I knew because I just lost my Amazon password and the extent of difficulty that put me through was absurd. Usually you would just use the password reset function that most websites have but not Amazon, they don’t make it that easy. You will find your account freezed and the only method to unlock it would be to access Amazon from another user account so that a reset can be executed onto your original account. I really doubt if Amazon is doing this just to impress, there got to be some other major websites who are doing the same thing.Well I did have my fair share of experience with vendors who are seriously lacking in their security management, I recently cancelled a card with Lloyds over the phone (I noticed the cancelled card was right next to the phone after the conversation) and for security confirmation, they were happy with just my postcode! When the substitute card did not come over the mail, I called Lloyds to discover it was sent to the wrong address, or the address in their system, but I have since relocated; I told them in no uncertain terms that I would not be held responsible should the person who obtained the card and PIN did something, which luckily he never did! With the shortfalls of passwords and PINs system, it is evident that fingerprint screening or ocular scanning is the next step in instilling public confidence on security checks, as for me, I anticipate the days when I don’t need to remember my strings of passwords!
