Disney’s stage adaptation of the beloved classic ‘The Lion King’ is now being performed in London’s West End. The stageshow fuses singing, dancing along with stunning scenery and costumes to produce a breathtaking stageshow. Viewers will delight in listening to recognizable songs from the movie, along with various brand new songs written specially for the musical edition. Amazing Costumes One might wonder how a musical production of the Lion King is able to represent creatures along the lines of giraffes and zebras while using human beings as actors. This task was done along with the help of several excellent costume designers. It is exciting to see the costumes, which are both complicated and easy. What should you do if your favorite television show is cancelled? Find a new one? Not if you’re a science fiction fan. The SciFi community has a well-earned reputation for rising up with a vegeance when a beloved show suddenly loses its lustre and fails to make the numbers. The tradition goes all the way back to the 1960s when fans of Star Trek persuaded NBC to bring the show back for a (shortened) third season.

There have been other notable scifi fan campaigns to revive dead shows. Farscape fans got a mini-series. Jericho fans got a few more episodes. Stargate fans saw their show move to SciFi/Syfy. Firefly fans were given a movie. Anything is possible if enough people get together and take decisive action. So when EW announced earlier this week that Legend of the Seeker, which had been balancing precariously on the knife’s edge since March (when the bankrupt Tribune Company dropped its support for the show), Seeker fans around the world sprang into action.

The scifi fans had already tried to save the show once. Their online petition failed to collect 50,000 signatures and it seemed like everyone settled down to await the final call. But when the EW announcement of impending cancellation came a small media company called Slam Internet, Inc. rolled out a counter strategy: they asked a science fiction Website to carry the Seeker widget. The widget plays videos and includes cast information and news. Once Xenite.Org’s Seeker fan site was updated with the widget, Seeker fans around the world stopped crying and started demanding that the show be saved.

An impressive rally grew out of a solitary forum discussion called ‘The Renewal WarWagon’. Suddenly, everyone was ready to pitch in and help. Hundreds of fans took to Twitter within minutes, posting “save our seeker” messages, contacting writers, actors, network representatives, and anyone who would listen.

A new Save The Seeker blog followed quickly and it has been posting updates on every move the fan community makes. They have compiled lists of sponsors (some of whom have already endorsed the campaign), Disney and ABC executives (who must by now have changed their email addresses), representatives from SyFy (which had already passed on the show), and just about every celebrity who has ever said anything good about the show.

Awestruck by the powerful reaction to their article, EW seems to have fallen into a petulant funk, taunting and insulting the fans. Virtually every media site that has expressed any support for the show has received links and thanks from dozens of fans. EW is now on the short list of bad guys — right alongside Tribune. There can be no doubt that the economy had a hand in this fiasco but it remains to be seen what the end is.

Maybe if fans buy enough DvDs they’ll see a movie in a year or two.

The man behind the enormous single Fireflies asserts he’s pleased to lose sleep over the successfulness of the tune. Adam Young, who goes using the moniker Owl City , is an insomniac and announces his sleep disorder has helped shove the track to No.1 in the United Kingdom, the US and around the planet.

He penned the tune in the cellar of his parents’ cottage in agricultural Minnesota in a restless night and gets by on daytime snoozes as he lives out his pop dream. Adam, twenty-three, asserted : “I have a little bit of a problem dropping off. Strangely enough it is when I can’t sleep that I have a tendency to find most inspiration. “I was up late and in the cellar one night when I wrote Fireflies. I was sat at the keyboard just fooling around, not particularly attempting to write anything. “Knowing it’s been No.1 for a fortnight in the United Kingdom is unbelievable. It is something I never imagined for that song.” Adam, who sings “It’s difficult to say that I would prefer to stay awake when I am asleep” on Fireflies, added : “It’s still the case that I am an insomniac. It has been going on for 1 or 2 years now.

“I have a tendency to lie up at night and it’s when I’m having difficulty going to sleep that I have the concepts for new songs.

That is when they compounding. “It’s sort of a blessing and a curse in a way because inspiration strikes the most at the point I’m about to drop off. I have been scientifically diagnosed but it could be a good problem to have. As long as I am getting 3 to 5 hours sleep anytime in the day I’m sometimes ready to go. He is saying that he owes his success to the web after posting songs onto his MySpace page. More than 10,000,000 folk heard Fireflies before record labels caught on, and that was only knocked off No.1 this week by the Help For Haiti single Everyone hurts .

Belvoir Castle will be holding a Fireworks display on Saturday set up against the stunning back drop.
For the second year in a row MLE Pyrotechnics is holding the event in the grounds of the Duke of Rutland’s family home with the crowds acting as judges.

Vanessa one of the organisers, said: “It’s a very superb place to be having such a night. The fireworks are all set off from behind the lake and are reflected in the water.”

And while visitors vote the nite will be capped off by a breathtaking pyro-musical display by the promoters.

The annual show, which begun in 2002, Is showing to be vastly successful. The three lead professional firework companies selected for this year’s event have gained many prestigious titles between them including the British Champions, British Musical Champions and Firework Champions.

And it’s not just fireworks with a Khoom Fay or Sky Lanterns release when the sky will be full with beautiful oriental sky lanterns that softly float into the distance.

On site parking and camping is available and from 5pm visitors can arrive so enjoy the food and booze accessible from authorized sellers or contribute a picnic while unwinding in the glorious grounds of Belvoir Castle.
