A research by an internal auditory firm and business consulting, Protiviti Inc. showed that the UK employees have not given a social media strategy while they use social networking sites at work.
The research cautions that the businesses those without an appropriate plan of social networking might be at a risk of violation of security rules as well as harm to reputation, when considering other matters.
Among the employees having access at workplace, about 39% show that there is no social networking policy present at the place. Another quarter of the respondents (24%) are not even aware of any kind of policies relating to social media usage.
In the modern times, there has been a huge growth in the usage of social media. Almost over half (51%) of the surveyed employees admit that they use social sites like that of Face book, Linked In and Twitter every single day. Another 5% accept to use these social networking sources many times in an hour.
Jonathan Wyatt, MD, Protiviti, UK said that the scenario of social media has been changing at a fast pace and spectacularly. Even the businesses are facing a challenge in sustaining in such an environment.
There a lot of companies present where unclear and outdated social media strategies are existing which are not enforceable in case there is an unfortunate activity. It is really tormenting that just a quarter of the UK workers have provided with actual assistance in using social networking sites.
